The Science Fair project is a long term project that the students will complete this year. It is designed to take students step-by-step through the scientific method.
I would love to have each student participating in the Science Fair to receive support at home in completing a high-quality project. Please feel free to help, support and encourage you child’s best efforts in putting together a first rate project. However, please be careful to let your child to the work with their partner or alone. Do not do the project for them. Your child will learn more if you limit your involvement to encouraging and guiding.
Your child will receive a packet with a list of ideas for possible projects, as well as guidelines and dates for completing different steps for a project.
The first week the question and hypothesis will be due. The second week the process and the methods will be due. Each week after that they will turn in a weekly journal observing what is happening in their experiment. This weekly journal stage can last anywhere from 5-6 weeks. The science display board will be due the day of the science fair.
Thank you,
Mrs. Gorman
